1.) Session #414 “Shoulder the Load: Corrective Exercise Strategies for the Shoulder” (Workshop) Saturday March 7th from 8:15am-10:15am Have you ever had clients that complain of recurring shoulder pain, have had a history of shoulder dysfunction or are extremely active with their shoulders; If so, this course is for you! The shoulder joint is a complex joint that needs to be trained strategically to improve performance while mitigating the risk of injury. In this course, we will look at shoulder anatomy, biomechanics, common dysfunctions and how to “bullet proof” the shoulders with specific mobility and strengthening corrective exercises. If you want to educate yourself on how to deal with problem shoulders, this is your chance to learn from a Physical Therapist the “what, why and how,” in preventing shoulder dysfunction.

2.) Session #440 “Cue Your Way to Success” (Lecture) Saturday March 7th, 10:35am-12:05pm Have you ever witnessed a coach or martial arts Sensei that can turn a mediocre athlete into a champion? Have you ever seen a trainer that seamlessly maximizes functional outcomes and body transformation for their clients? These results don’t happen by accident, they are a culmination of using high level cueing and “buy-in” to bring about positive change and self-actualization. Although learning the “Art of the Sensei” is hard to master, this course will put you on the path to capitalizing on the secrets of the greatest coaches and trainers in history. Learn from a Physical Therapist, C.S.C.S. and US National TaeKwon-Do champion and team captain how to utilize every “tool in your box” to become a personal training “sensei.”

3.) Session #493 “Foundational Movement Assessment.” (Workshop) Saturday March 7th, 4:25-6:15pm. In this session participants will be exposed to foundational movement patterns and common dysfunctions associated with these patterns. Once identified, movement dysfunction will be addressed with easy to implement corrective exercises. This course will give participants insight into what a physical therapist looks for in dysfunctional movement and the thought process that goes into corrective exercise selection. Begin to bridge the gap between personal training and sports medicine with this informative and practical session.

4.) Session #601 “Foundational Movement Anatomy & Kinesiology Modeling.” (Workshop) Sunday March 8th, 8-10:50am If you need to brush up on your anatomy and how it applies to human movement, look no further than this 3-hour post-conference session. In this course we will explore functional anatomy, how it applies to foundational movement, foundational movement assessment and most importantly, how to coach, cue and correct dysfunctional movement. In this first ever course offering, we will use 3D models to identify muscle origin and insertion and apply the learnings to foundational movement. This course is taught by a Physical Therapist and intended to help “bridge the gap” between personal training and rehabilitative medicine.
